At CEPES Centro de Estudios Pesqueros S.A. ("CEPES") we take care of the personal data you share with us through this website (cepes.cl). This policy explains what data we collect, what we use it for and what rights you have over it, in accordance with Chilean Law No. 19,628 on the protection of privacy and Law No. 21,719.
1. Data controller
The data controller is CEPES Centro de Estudios Pesqueros S.A. For any question about this policy or your data, you can write to us at contacto@cepes.cl.
2. What data we collect
When you use the contact form we collect your first and last name, your email address, your phone number (optional) and the content of your message. Please do not include sensitive information in your message, such as health information or data about other people.
In addition, technical usage data is collected while you browse the site, such as pages visited, device and browser type, and approximate location, through Google Analytics (see section 7).
3. What we use it for
We use the data from the form only to answer your inquiry and, where appropriate, follow up on it. We do not use it to send advertising and we do not sell or share it with third parties. We use browsing data in aggregate form to understand how the site is used and to improve it.
4. Legal basis
We process the form data with your consent, which you give by ticking the acceptance box before sending your message. You can withdraw that consent at any time by writing to us at contacto@cepes.cl.
5. Who we share it with
To run the site we work with a few providers who may access the data only as far as needed to provide their service: the web hosting service, the email service that delivers the form messages to us, Cloudflare Turnstile (spam protection that analyzes technical data from your browser) and Google Analytics. Some of these providers may store data outside Chile.
6. How long we keep it
We keep form messages for as long as needed to handle and follow up on your inquiry. After that we delete them, unless a legal obligation requires us to keep them longer.
7. Cookies
The site uses technical cookies needed for it to work, such as those for spam protection and language selection, and Google Analytics cookies to measure visits for statistical purposes. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; if you block Google Analytics cookies, the site will keep working normally.
8. Your rights
You can request access to your data, its correction or deletion, object to its use, request its portability or withdraw your consent. To do so, write to us at contacto@cepes.cl stating what you need; we will reply within the time limits set by law. If you feel we did not handle your request properly, you can contact the data protection authority.
9. Security
We apply reasonable measures to protect your data, such as an encrypted connection (HTTPS) and restricted access to the site administration.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will publish the new version on this same page with its update date.
